REBUTTAL: Portal Vein Thrombosis: To anticoagulate or not?

Presentation Overview: 
Dr. Khan will be presenting arguments favoring anticoagulation in patients with portal vein thrombosis.  He looks forward to seeing you there and answering your questions! 


Dr. Khan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Western Ontario, specializing in Transplant Hepatology. He is also an Associate Scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute. 

He completed his medical training at the King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. He subsequently pursued Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Chicago. This was followed by advanced training in Transplant Hepatology at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

His areas of research interest include:
(1) Optimization and Management of Pre- and Post-liver transplant cardiometabolic conditions;
(2) Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease; and
(3) Portal Hypertension. 

He is a Steering Committee member of the Clinical Practice Special Interest Group of the AASLD and an active member of CASL and EASL.
